A great record, and you're probably right that the issue number is related to a date. However, the record definitely dates from 1954. So it might refer to the eighth pressing from June 1954, or the sixth item pressed from August 1954 -- or something like that.

ReplyDelete"62548" is actually not the date (ie, 1948) ... however it dates from around 1954 so perhaps it translates to 6-2-54 (June 2, 1954) ... no idea what the "8" means ...
Tex-Talent more than likely was based in Houston, TX. Freeman's involvement was more than as recording artist. He and Tex Star Enterprises handled promotion and dates for artists in Houston area. Tex Star also pubbery on Allstar records ca 59/60.
