WRIGHTMAN RECORDS

The Hollywood based WRIGHTMAN label appears to have been principally a vehicle to promote songs published through Neale Wrightman Publishers. Releases on WRIGHTMAN had either a W or P Suffix after the issue number, in the absence of any indication as to the significance of these letters, I have been working on the assumption that the “W” stands for Western, and the “P” stands for Pop. The only other observation worthy of bringing to your attention is that each artist who recorded for the label seems to have had two consecutive releases.

WRIGHTMAN 1010.W
SPEED COLEY AND HIS HILLBILLY RAMBLERS
Texas Memories (Vocal – Dick Hirons) (1010-W.A)
(Speed Coley) (BMI)
There’s A Cabin In The Rockies (Vocal – Dick Hirons) (1010-W.B)

WRIGHTMAN 1011.W
SPEED COLEY AND HIS HILLBILLY RAMBLERS

WRIGHTMAN 1010.W and 1011.W were mentioned in BILLBOARD 17th May 1947.

Although not noted I assume that the publishing was through “Neale Wrightman Publishers”
