  1. Phillip, just a note to tell you I picked up a copy of "Tarheel Swing" from Krazy Kat records. The liner shows that you were the compliler of the info. Just thought I'd let you know that my dad, Bill Purcell from Altamahaw, NC was the steel guitar player on Dixie Playboy Swing and probably on Dixieland Boogie. Dad is living in Roanoke now and just retired from playing music, most recently on "The Bill Jefferson Show" filmed in Rocky Mount, VA and airing on the ION affiliate in Roanoke.
