Hear "All About The Women"
Is this the same Wayne Walker that was a regular on the Louisiana Hayride, recorded with Jimmy Lee Fautheree and wrote many later country classics?
ReplyDeleteAccording to the KRAZY KAT CD notes, this Wayne Walker is neither the guitarist with Hoyle Nix, nor the Shreveport based performer who recorded with Jimmy Lee. This Wayne Walker was a moderately successful Houston based songwriter.
ReplyDeleteAh... Billboard also reported that a Wayne Walker signed a contract with the Jiffy label in 1954, but there never appeared a Walker single. Do you know anything about that?
ReplyDeleteStar Talent #776 by Wayne Walker is the same Walker who played guitar with Hoyle Nix. He moved to Houston shortly afterwards and is credited with writing or co-writing a bunch of tunes on Starday and D. He is not the much better known Shreveport/Nashville Wayne Walker.
